If you’ve been thinking about having a summer wedding in Prince Edward County, this is your sign to go full steam ahead.
There is truly nothing like summer in the County – the warm rays of sunshine, the white sandy beaches, sparkling lake shimmering like the diamond on your finger. This little corner of the world blends spectacular nature with an emphasis on comfort and to my mind that makes it the perfect setting for a wedding experience that sings with relaxed elegance.
The Culinary Arts Prince Edward (better known as “The Cape”) is one such venue that blends historic charm, relaxed elegance and high class sophistication all into one. It’s a versatile venue, offering you a number of spaces to hold your wedding. Ceremony on the lawn? Check. Cocktail hour on the veranda? Check. Tented reception out front? Sign me up!
Weddings that take full advantage of a venue’s spaces are the perfect way to enhance your guests’ experience. By having the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in various settings, you and your guests will truly be able to soak in every view.
These days, what with the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s crucially important for your wedding to provide enough space for everyone to stand 6 feet apart. This is great news for outdoor weddings with multiple spaces because people will have plenty of space to move around and stand apart from others. This is something to be mindful of when searching for the right venue for your wedding.
The CAPE is a bright, airy location with lots of greens, beige and yellow and toffee browns, and so the colour palette of your wedding should complement these colours. For this styled shoot, I designed a colour palette with dusty blue being the primary colour and toffee brown, cream and green as accent colours. The light blue really complements the brown while offering a calming, delicate feel. Neutral colour palettes are your best bet.
I hope this inspires you to have a summer wedding in Prince Edward County. It’s a place filled with many hidden gems, gorgeous views, charming wineries and, of course, spectacular food.
